Day of Blessing and Opportunity

One of Sal and Elena's dreams is to build relationships within the Hindu communities surrounding Quiet Corner. The less then two weeks they have left will be spent ministering to pastors and their wives and building those relationships.

The day began with a trip to Gudalur (gu-da-lu), a large town located on the other side of the mountain that goes to Ooty. They have decided that is their new favorite city. It is full of fun places to shop and is surrounded by high mountains full of coffee, tea and spice plantations.

After lunch they walked toward Wasu's house for a visit. On the way a TaTa car passed them. It stopped and backed up. Anama and her son were in it. They insisted Sal and Elena get in the car and come with them to meet her brother's family. And so off they went in a car driven by a 15 year old with no license. Anama and her entire family are Hindus. Last year we were able to share the gospel with them. We are pleased that though they have not accepted the Lord, they are still interested in having a friendship. They had a great time meeting Anama's sister-in-law, nieces and mother. Her son collected some fresh coconut, cut them open and everyone enjoyed drinking coconut water. Then they dropped Sal and Elena off at Wasu's house where they spent two hours speaking about church and ministry and praying with them. Tomorrow Sal will preach at his church. As they began walking back to Quiet Corner, a young Hindu women called to them from her farm house and invited them to meet her two month old son. As Elena sat holding this precious baby, she wondered what would become of him in the future. Without the truth, these precious people are destined to a life of deception and idol worship.

It surely has been a day of blessing and opportunity.
